Fractions 3 - Parts of a whole

- Draw a number line that is 20cm long
- At one end put "0" and at the other end put "1"
- What fractions do you know that are between 0 and 1? Where would they go on this number line? Draw them in.
- Where would you put these fractions: 2/7 4/8 1/100 999/1000
- Check your number line with someone else.
- Don't forget to label the number line and photograph it for Notability.

Have a look at this diagram:
a) Explain what happens to the size of the fraction as the denominator increases.
b) Knowing this, which one would be bigger: 1/79 or 1/256
